For the Joy of it

For I have seen a rich and a powerful man lying on feet of my father, a surgeon by profession oldest one practicing still in Delhi NCR region, known for his healing hands.. to save his son’s life. For I have seen a poor child with torn clothes playing happily with his broken toy, where as mine fully clothed, well fed still not happy from the one bought from Hamley’s. For I have seen people of all income groups saying the same prayer … when they visit a holy place.. For I have seen, I have experienced.. I have lived a life… in which through all the rejections and regrets I have learnt it in the hardest way possible.. do it for the Joy of doing it.. not for the sake of it…
For I have seen many people with all riches clad in sadness.. for I have seen people with all money still chasing for more.. for I have seen rich, poorer than the poor.. for I have seen a beggar helping the one in the accident whereas the one with iphones busy taking videos… For I have seen that although you may want to believe that it is money around which the world revolves.. For I hope you know.. it isn’t that.. it is love around which the world revolves..
For I have seen that no matter how much money I spent, I couldn’t buy happiness, For I have seen no matter how many pills I popped, endless diet fads I went on, I could never buy health.. For I know I long for the sleep which my child sleeps with, a smile on their face knowing they are safe.. For I know even if i give you thousands you won’t trade your sleep with me.. For I have seen a life .. I have lived it..
For I have seen the trees giving us oxygen for free, and we kill them for some sun light.. or fire.. For I have seen mother earth creating havoc when its children stop listening.. For I have seen tyrants risings, terror close by.. only to be defeated because someone had the courage to not raise their hand in their glory [read about — August Landmesser] .. For I have seen the widows of the men killed in war.. For I have seen my grandmother being given the knife to kill herself to protect her integrity when terror tribes attacked Kashmir.. For I have known that people like Tank Man existed..
For I have seen that naked Iran girl who stood for her rights being silent.. where you and I went on with our lives .. For I have seen what discrimination based on gender, religion, caste does to a society.. trust me.. I live in one.. For I have seen it is easy to hate.. to mock.. to disregard.. For I have known.. it takes immense courage to #BeKind..
For I have seen people with morbid obesity undergoing knife.. For I have seen what anxiety looks like.. For I have seen the pain one feels to cut their own hand.. For I have seen when one pops the pills to end.. For I have been that… someone who wanted to end her life… For I have known…that all it lacked was Joy… [disclaimer- being suicidal can have underlying medical reasons, seek help.. i am a suicide survivor… i learnt to live.. and continue to do so..]
For I have seen when you no longer chase.. For I have seen when you are not the part of the race.. For I have seen nature up close.. For I have seen sun risings in forests not for some gold.. For I have seen the greed.. up close.. For I have chosen to let it all go…
For I have seen humble people holding projects of million dollars… not doing it for money.. For I have met those open source contributors making code for just making it.. For I have seen those projects being mocked, disregarded … For I have seen what harm little knowledge causes.. For I have seen.. I have lived the life… I know what I am writing.. for it was me…
Well folks… if you have made it till here… if work brings you Joy.. then work.. If sitting idle brings you Joy.. sit idle.. If endless meetings bring you Joy.. be my guest… whatever brings you Joy… I hope in the busy lives you all live… you find some time to do just that.. and while doing it… you ensure that you don’t kill other’s Joy….
For I know… there is a lot of unknowns… and the Joy I feel in seeking the eternal truth.. For no holy book preaches to hate.. For you and I can co-exists.. For there are and will be many problems to solve.. For the Joy remains in doing things… which brings more Joy…
Joy begets joy… live for that if you have the time… well that’s is something… you may never so might as well create it…
Life is to be lived… that’s all folks! Do it for Joy …
